For five years, the TsPAs made it a tradition to visit the TGNA on the 23rd of April, National Sovereignty and Children’s Day, in order to strengthen the collaboration of TGNA and the civil society, as well as to draw attentions to the importance of it. As every year, on the 23rd day of April 2015, the TsPA family gathered with participants from 20 different provinces in Ankara.
For five years, the TsPAs made it a tradition to visit the TGNA on the 23rd of April, National Sovereignty and Children’s Day, in order to strengthen the collaboration of TGNA and the civil society, as well as to draw attentions to the importance of it. As every year, on the 23rd day of April 2015, the TsPA family gathered with participants from 20 different provinces in Ankara.
In the seminar which lasted for two days, the Porters and the Kitchen made mutual evaluations, debating on the past, present and the future of the TsPAs.
During the seminar, debates were made also on how to build a closer relationship with the soon-to-be-built parliament. An “action plan” was worked on for this, especially so that it coincides with right before the opening of the 25th session of TGNA, and its first month.
Unfortunately, we have received positive replies to our applications and meeting requests we made months ago, only from the CHP group. However, the meeting to be made with the CHP Group Deputy Chairmanship at 12.30 on 23 April was cancelled with an information sent on the 22nd of April. The reason for cancellation was shown as the disapproval of the Parliamentary Security Directorship.
On the second day of the meeting, guest participants from the Checks and Balances Network, Transparency International, Vote and Beyond gave information on the work they conduct regarding the elections, answering questions asked by TsPA porters.
Lawyer and activist Ömer Atalar made a presentation titled “Supervision in the Parliamentary System, Prime Ministry in the Legislative Process.”
Concluding the annual meeting with a meeting evaluation, the TsPAs will have their 6th traditional Ankara meeting on 23 April 2016.
