Since Supreme Electoral Board (YSK) has annuled Hatip Dicle’s membership of the parliament for the conviction of ‘organisational propaganda’ Mustafa Balbay and Mehmet Haberal, CHP MPs, who are in remand have not been released.
Since Supreme Electoral Board (YSK) has annuled Hatip Dicle’s membership of the parliament for the conviction of ‘organisational propaganda’ Mustafa Balbay and Mehmet Haberal, CHP MPs, who are in remand have not been released. Prosecution objected to the release demand of 6 defendants, one of them is Dicle, in the KCK case.
YSK decided for the AKP candidate to become the MP insteard of Hatip Dicle, who was elected by the support of Labour, Democracy, and Freedom Block. Block’s candidates deliberated the ruling about Dicle on the 23rd of June in Diyarbakır. None of the elected 36 Block candidates will be taking their seats in the assembly unlyess all the elected representatives are allowed.
CHP MPs Mustafa Balbay and Mehmet Haberal in jail for the Ergenekon case and MHP MP Engin Alan is in jail for the Sledgehammer plan are not released. Unless they become members of parliament, next in line CHP candidates will be going to the assembly.
